1’ white Cat6 Plenum cables which meet NFPA standards while also exceeding the network speeds offered by our custom Plenum Cat5e cables. Unlike more standard Cat6 cables such as a Riser cable, the Cat 6 cable shown here is authorized for use in Plenum spaces such as air ducts and other ventilation systems. The most important aspect of communications Plenum rated cables, also known as CMP cables, is their Plenum jacket. While it is not a major concern for standard gigabit Ethernet cables outside of air circulation systems, non-Plenum cables could release harmful smoke in the event that they catch fire. However, if a non-Plenum cord caught fire in one or more Plenum areas, it could quickly circulate that smoke throughout the building. That is why Plenum cables, such as the Cat6 Ethernet cables shown here, do not contain those same harmful materials as outlined by the NFPA.
It is worth noting that nearly all our Cat6 Plenum cable lines, including the cable shown here, are UTP cable products which stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair. While a shielded data cable provides more protection against crosstalk and other electromagnetic interferences, it is usually unnecessary for a Plenum Ethernet cable. With that in mind, we do offer 1000ft bulk cable spools of shielded network cables with a Plenum jacket here if you require such a product.
Custom built in house, lead time could be several days.
